The Story of a Vision
Altınçatı Care Home and Elderly Care Center was founded in 1996 in Ankara, with a vision that sees the aging period not as a time of “stepping aside” but as a “golden age.” The motivation behind the institution is its founders who are driven by the goal of bringing elderly care services in Turkey up to world standards.
The founders, Mr. Akın KOYUNCU was born in 1967 in Adana, and Mrs. Gülhan Doğan KOYUNCU was born in 1972 in Denizli. Both graduated in 1995 from the Social Services department of Ankara Hacettepe University. After graduating, they established Altınçatı Care Home and Elderly Care Center in September 1996 with a capacity of 26 beds, making it one of the first private care homes in Ankara.
During this process, they continued learning and self-improvement, with both completing family counseling training from METU Continuing Education Center. Additionally, Mrs. Gülhan Doğan Koyuncu completed her Family and Marriage Therapy training at Başkent University. Our founders continue to take numerous steps toward developing themselves and the institution by participating in countless symposiums, meetings, and training programs.
After the first institution, they continued to grow and develop to provide better service to their guests and help them live their golden age. They brought to life the 87-bed Nevia Care Home and Elderly Care Center, the 97-bed Altınçatı Yıldız Care Home and Elderly Care Center, and the 53-bed Altınçatı Gordion Care Home and Elderly Care Center, creating a care home tradition in Ankara based on health, happiness, quality, and professionalism.
